Chaplain Support
Navy Wounded Warrior works closely with local chaplains to inspire hope, strengthen spiritual well-being, and facilitate a positive and nurturing attitude among wounded warriors and staff.
Navy chaplains offer care in the form of confidential counseling, referrals, and assistance to all wounded, ill, and injured in the Navy and Coast Guard, and their families. Chaplains also provide a variety of programs, worship resources, and spiritual guidance to address issues associated with any major life change.
Watch Navy Chaplain Cmdr. Philip King explains the importance of Navy Wounded Warrior in connecting seriously wounded, ill, and injured Sailors and Coast Guardsmen to a lifetime of care and resources in this inspiring video.
Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO) is a spiritual readiness and resilience resource that offers unique retreat and workshop opportunities dealing with post-traumatic stress, personal resilience, and marriage enrichment. Each CONUS CREDO office has a chaplain who works in conjunction with the Navy Wounded Warrior care managers to coordinate retreats, which are free to active-duty service members and their families. Check out this video for more information.

"Chaplains are in the business of hope. We search for ways to bring hope to all people, especially those whose lives have shifted quickly from combat or accidental injury or a serious illness. As representatives of God, we declare that God does not hide amid trouble, rather God supports and guides us through every moment, be it full of joy or sorrow."
- Cmdr. Bill Middleton, Navy Chaplain with the Navy Wounded Warrior program
